Briarmeade Golf Club
Briarmeade Golf Club was founded in 1935 by Mr. George Black who designed the original nine holes. A native of Scotland, Mr. Black envisioned a course that resembled his home land with rolling hills and lush greenery. Mr. Black left a lasting legacy in Etowah County and to this day no one has beat his low score of 62.
Briarmeade Golf Club consists of approximately 125 acres of rolling and sometimes steep landscape. With narrow fairways and small greens, a golfer must have great control over the ball to achieve a low score. On several holes, the greens are not visible from the tee box, making your first time a learning experience. After making it through the narrow tree lined fairways, much of the challenge remains on the green.
